Some Improv Fun at The Tournament of Tease on the Tanz Live stage, 2013
Miss Oh! is trained in Ballet and has had the opportunity to perform on a stage, from a very young age. She stumbled upon Burlesque in London in 2008, fell utterly head over heels in love and has been learning and performing ever since. Before leaving London at the end of 2009, Miss Oh threw herself into the Burlesque competition " The Tournament of Tease" and debuted her "Phroar" act. Upon arriving in Johannesburg, Miss Oh (through googling) discovered a bevy of beautiful women through Black Orchid Burlesque. They performed together at The Blues Room and CCHQ and formed the troupe, "The Curtain Call Revue". (2010-2011). The troupe danced together for a year, continuing their CCHQ residency, and they then performed at Maboneng's POP art Theatre. (2011-2012). Soon after CCHQ closed it's doors, CCR parted ways. 2 of the CCR members Ally Ooop and Miss Oh, needed a new front to perform and founded the avant-garde, "The Adventures of...", an avenue for their draglesque outlet. The duo then recruited Ivana Backhoff and Foxy Bonnet to delve into their crazy theatre of the absurd. Well renowned venues like Amuse, Catz Pyjamas and Cafe Culture hosted their shows. During this time, Ooop and Oh, were invited to perform at the launch of C-MAX's roller derby (the first bout on African soil), Golden Tiki tattoo parlour's yearly shop party at the Woods, Scarabesque's showcase of Bellydancing and performance art at Sheikhs Palace and Cool Ink Tattoo convention's stage at Her Majesty's in Kyalami. Miss Oh! also started her resident performance spot with Michael Lesar's Lets Swing It events. In early 2013, after performing for and meeting with Mechant & Gentil Lingerie's Bronwyn, Miss Oh! decided to up the standard of burlesque and took the reigns of her adventurous troupe and created Vintage Cheek, purveyors of Premier Burlesque Entertainment! Bronwyn and Miss Oh! also joined forced to create a platform for new burlesque performers through classes at the lingerie shop and through their joint venture "The Tournament of Tease, SA". Since 2013, Vintage Cheek have performed on stages such as Buzz9, Casta Diva's Vissi Darte in PTA, Tanz Live in Blackheath, JHB, The State Theatre PTA, Carnival City, JHB, Cullinan's Old Rec Club, The Bioscope, The Rand Club.
